Against All Odds

For about five years, I have noticed a decline in one of my four Maltese dogs.  Prince had gained weight and was very tired.

People told me that Prince ate too much- and he did – but he also slept a lot.

I tried different foods but then I noticed Prince had some weird breakouts of crusty things on his lips and around his groin area.  I had no idea what it was.

I went to my veterinarian, and he gave Prince his first steroid and antibiotic treatment. I was hoping that that would clear up the situation but unfortunately these symptoms came back within months.

I then took him to another veterinarian. She was holistic and also had an herbalist on site. They provided some herbal formulas but also gave him a steroid and some antibiotics. The result, after this treatment was more brown/ blackish crusty areas in the groin area and now it was also on the abdomen. He would squat a lot and now he was whimpering. I would bathe him with antifungal medication baths and I was told, on the second visit, that it was allergy related. I told the veterinarian that I had changed his diet to more of a people food raw diet.

Unfortunately, things progressed badly so I went to yet another veterinarian that my brother used. I went there about four different times. Three of the times Prince received antibiotic and steroid treatments. I was told to keep coming back and now to get allergy shots for Prince.  They also put him on some type of Science Diet and when I looked at the ingredients, I was shocked.

Unfortunately, he was worsening.

I was at such a loss and hugged him and prayed over him praying for God to give me direction as other people were praying as well. It’s a horrible thing to watch a dog in pain and black crusty things all over his body and then hair loss.

I reached out to a friend of mine whose husband used to own dog stores in my area. She has helped countless numbers of dogs and she owns horses and other animals that she keeps healthy.

She shared what she does with her dog and sent an article that described to a tee everything that Prince was going through!

When I saw this article and found out that the author of the article was, in fact, somebody that another friend highly recommended as one of the top Veterinarians in the United States… Dr. Deva Khalsa, I had real hope for the very first time.

I called her office after doing the paperwork that she had online for me to do and had an appointment with her over the phone. Her staff is warm and friendly. Dr. Khalsa went right to the heart of the issue that Prince had.

After some tests to figure out what was going on internally, he was put on medicine and became much more alive within only two days of taking the medicine. His ears are getting better because they were continually getting infected as part of this whole syndrome that he was encountering. After bathing him in the special shampoo and leave in conditioner, The black that had almost covered a third of his body under his stomach, on his behind and around his groin area and lips began to have a chance to heal. His paws also began to heal because that was the last straw for me that he had been chewing his paws so bad that all his fur came off.

I cannot even begin to add up how much money that was spent on going to the previous various veterinarians and buying all the food products that they wanted me to give him.

Dr. Khalsa is not only extremely intelligent and professional but she is also very careful in trying to keep one not to spend a lot of money but finding ways in different places to get bloodwork, medicines, ear solutions, and the vials for the Allergy Elimination 4 Pets  that I have been doing. She is an online Doctor who likes to get to the root of the situation instead of dealing with all the symptoms.

When you see a dog come back to life from what Dr. Khalsa did it is something really special to experience. She found out through thyroid bloodwork that he was at end-stage thyroid and prescribed the proper medication. Prince started to be happy again with energy and begin to look good after years of him feeling sick and me of feeling helpless and watching my poor Prince suffer.

I thank God and I thank my friend who recommended her with the article written by Dr. Deva Khalsa. She went right to the problems and in the first meeting provided hope and has walked me through this process with Prince so that, in a very short time, is feeling great and has rapidly improved in every way!

Prince was near death so it was against all odds that  a miracle happened due to the knowledge and the care of this wonderful doctor to who I am forever grateful!

And Prince is too!
